While problems may have arose due to Gouvernail's unresponsiveness to Mrs. Baroda's attempts to be a good hostess, she ultimately figures out just how much she likes him by the end of the story. Through details and other clues read in the story it's easy to figure out that the next time Gouvernail visits Mrs. Baroda and her husband that the title of "a respectable woman" may not be so respectable anymore.
