…showed last 75 words of 668 total…to, in layman's terms, toughen up and deal with it. This manifested Tom's shift into adulthood. Overall, it is pretty evident that the quote I chose to link the two novels we've read has many ways of relating Tom's situation to Adam Cooper's. This quote connected both characters change into manhood, their recognizing that they will permanently remain adults, and the fact that their childhoods were much different and less traumatic than their later life.
