and must be handled with care. However, over the Cold War, the US knew where the nuclear threat was coming from: Russia. And the US knew how to deal with that threat: stockpile weapons for a counter-attack. Today, future enemies are unanticipated and the US might possibly be unprepared. All in all, the nuclear threat is rising again, 10 years after the fall of the Soviet Union, only this time the focus is on East Asia.
