Ant Attack
When younger, I despised bugs of any kind. Although the common ant seemed harmless, this bug too I believed should face death upon my sight. I took delight in squashing anthills full of busy insects at work. I did not realize that though these insects appeared small, unimportant, and even grotesque, they too deserved the chance to survive. The summer before my first grade year an abundance of ants appeared around the pool

the insects just cause annoyance, inconvenience, and trouble.
Seeing the ant rescuing his friend that summer day over ten years ago remains a very touching memory. It made the insect seem more human like than I ever imagined. Though I still feel guilty for killing that particular ant, as a collective class, they remain a real nuisance. Ants cause many problems for humans. Ants seem to only hinder our world, not help it.
