In comparison with Developmental Prevention and Early Intervention, parents are encouraged to inflict certain types of cost to educate their children that there are consequences to their actions. I feel that family and parenting interventions significantly reduce the time spent by juvenile delinquents in institutions. There would also be a significant reduction in the risk of a juvenile delinquent being re-arrested.
