The ontological argument is concerned with being it is an a priori argument for the existence of God. That is, it is not dependent on experience but is an argument where all knowledge is derived from the mind. It is also a type of argument that follows reason and not ones senses. If these philosophers would merely study what is accepted and what they agree upon rather than what they don't then I think they would find that ultimately the foundation of their belief is alike.
