By looking at external preoccupation, self-consciousness, interaction-consciousness and other-consciousness along with some of the ideas of interaction from Giddens and Durkheim's theory on labour, one can uncover much truth to the fact that alienation can take place anywhere, anytime and in any social setting, even a basketball game.
