Ethnocentrism is the belief that ones country or culture is better then another. You can find ethnocentrism just about anywhere you find people, though it is true that it will affect some areas, and subsequently, the people in those areas, more strongly. It can be said that this is a terrible way of thinking, but many people are affected by it.

our country or culture?
I would have to say no. Without ethnocentrism their can be no decision making, that would cause a stagnant pool of indifference. This cannot be allowed, though it should be said that falling into the trap of thinking that you are always right can be just dangerous. So ethnocentrism is somewhat a double edged sword. A people cannot survive without it, but at the same time can be destroyed by it.
