Palace, London. Henry played a major part in the renaissance by causing a series of events that altered England in many ways; he broke with the church and reforming England to the Protestant religion. He freed the threat of invasion of Scotland for future generations. He also created what was the start of the Royal British Navy, and he symbolized the very idea of kingship and nationhood. His ten-year old son, Edward VI, succeeded him.
