As Director of Sporting Events for Florida University I watched news footage of the rioting that happened after the Ohio State vs. Michigan football game. That night I began to review our current policy and procedures during sporting events. I also did some research on sporting event violence. This proposal relies heavily on security and countering the threat of fan violence heavily. I have noticed that some cities revert to containment of fans that are rioting and not countering those fans. What happens is millions of dollars of damage and negative press. This should not be our approach here. We should meet the threat eye to eye and take the initiative in implementing new approaches.
