It has become an unfortunate trend, in this century especially, to view the term "tyranny" and "tyrant" as terms more profane than the most extreme expletive. Throughout the 20th century, nauseatingly incessant, bland, and liberally idealized excess has been erroneously dedicated to provide evidence unto the supposed superiority of democracy, and with it a democratic society. This is written as a plea to make democracy work and do not let it fester out of laziness, let it flourish out of wariness. For truly the failure of democracy comes not out of failure of the government, but failure of the people.
