After Hector's death, Achilles with his immense ruthlessness decided that this wasn't enough. He defiled the body of Hector as a means of disrespect and killing of the soul. Seeing that the gods don't approve of this heinous act, Achilles is once again placing his revenge in front of a higher authority.
