Over the years many historians have shown ties between
progressivism and imperialism. Indeed these two are related. They both deal
with the same topics. To what extent though? They are similar up until a
certain point. It all boils down to whether the expansion in imperialism is for
the better good or not. When the acquisition of land does not necessarily
benefit the country that is where the two topics split.

In conclusion the two topics are closely related to a certain point and
after that they stray further and further apart. The fact remains that they
are both based on the same principals that they are in place for the better
good of the country. Whether the acquisition of land is part of this process
