Whilst none of us can argue that it was a tragedy when young surfer, Brad Smith lost his life in a recent shark attack in Western Australia, it would be a grave mistake to believe that simply destroying a magnificent and endangered creature of the deep will do anything to provide comfort to his grieving family or protection to the public.

not misunderstand what I am trying to say, I have the upmost respect for the young mans family and hope they can move on through this time of incredible grief most of us could only imagine. But when we start to apply human knowledge like recreational swimming areas and we misunderstand the behavioural patterns of the shark we can go way, way too far on an issue which in reality was just a horrible accident.
