Racism stems from one of the most disgusted practices of all time, slavery. Since slavery has started, slaves have been thought of as animals. They were owned and forced to work for their owners. This way of seeing slaves, blacks, got imbedded into the minds of white people. For this reason, whites did not see blacks as equals, leading to blacks being singled out and picked on. Slavery set the tone of mind for whites

equals of course would be hard if they used to be someone that had to obey every order that was given to them. They had total control over them until slavery ended. To some whites, blacks will never be their equals; they see them only as animals. They owned them and forced them to do whatever they wanted. Even now whites see blacks as inferior to them. Slavery has truly been the root of racism.
