Perhaps he had nothing else to live for. <Tab/>The story of Miss Jane Pittman's life has allowed me to recognize and better understand the hardships that were endured by African American slaves. They endured great suffering while trying to escape the injustice of bondage. Slavery exemplifies the effect of greed and power in all humanity.
