The Bill of Rights is a series of amendments 1-10. These amendments guarantee freedom of speech, right to a jury, freedom of the press and other rights. John Locke's ideas on natural rights and law gave John Hancock the inspiration her needed to write a motivational speech and foundation for out government. Also Montesquieu helped form the checks and balances this helped greatly in the formation of our government.
