The 1919 World Series resulted in the most famous scandal in baseball history. Eight players from the Chicago White Sox (later nicknamed the Black Sox) were accused of throwing the series against the Cincinnati Reds. The scandal was a success, even with the other 17 players, the eight teammates were able to lose and make it look as if they played their best. Although everything worked perfectly, few people that took part in the scandal talked which started rumors. Finally, the eight players dubbed the "Black Sox" were indicated. Despite being acquitted of criminal chargers, the players were banned from professional baseball for life.
