Even though most of the colonies on the eastern seaboard during the 17th century had English origin, each colony had its differences. The colonies of Chesapeake and Plymouth are two perfect examples. Each of the colonies had distinctive differences in their religion, government and economy. The Puritans were very devoted to their religion, but Chesapeake was very lenient and laid back.

Bible. Both colonies did have a voting procedure; you must be a male who owned land. Although, in the Chesapeake colony gave the men to defend and govern their own land. Once again, the Anglicans did not have a church centered life, but the Puritans obviously did have a life centered by the church.
There were many things that rendered the differences in the colonies. The main differences were in their religion, economics and government.
